How We Can Help

Every child is different, and there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to communication. We provide assessment and intervention that is neurodiversity-affirming, strengths-based, and tailored to each child and family.

Our focus is on supporting communication, participation, and wellbeing, not on changing who a child is. If you’re unsure whether speech pathology, or a particular approach, is right for your child, this overview can help.

What We Help With

We provide assessment and therapy to support children with:

  • Speech sound development

    • Clarity of speech and being understood

  • Language development

    • Understanding language, using words and sentences, expressing ideas

  • Literacy development

    • Foundations for reading, spelling, and written expression

  • Mealtimes and feeding

    • Feeding skills, food acceptance, and positive mealtime experiences

  • Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC)

    • Supporting communication using tools to help a child reach their potential

  • Hearing loss

    • Listening & spoken language development

    • Support with technology in their everyday life

  • Social communication

    • Supporting connection, interaction, self-advocacy and communication preferences

Our Approaches and Training

Our therapy is guided by evidence-based approaches, specialist training, and a neurodiversity-affirming framework.

This means we:

  • Respect and value neurodivergent communication styles

  • Focus on functional and meaningful goals

  • Avoid compliance-based or masking-focused therapy

  • Work collaboratively with families to support the child’s real-world needs

Our clinical approaches and training include:

  • Listening and Spoken Language Specialist (LSLS)
Advanced training through the Alexander Graham Bell Academy to support children with hearing loss to develop listening and spoken language.

  • Hanen – It Takes Two to Talk® (ITTT)
A parent-focused approach supporting early language development through everyday interactions.

  • Read 3 Program
Supporting literacy development and reading comprehension.

  • Sounds-Write Program
A structured, evidence-based approach to spelling and reading.

  • SOS Approach to Feeding (Sequential Oral Sensory)
A play-based, child-led approach to supporting feeding and mealtime challenges.

Therapy is always tailored to the child, with regards to their strengths, challenges, and the overall family goals. As a result, there is not a ‘one size fits all’ approach to therapy.
